Sports Massage Ampthill & Flitwick
If you’re looking for a sports massage in Ampthill or Flitwick, The Body Sage Clinic in Bedford is the perfect place. Sports massage treatments with us are based around you and your specific needs – whether you need to reduce pain or soothe tired or injured muscles.
Our sports massage therapists utilise advanced soft tissue sports massage techniques which can help improve flexibility and range of motion. If you’re recovering from a sports injury, regular sports massage sessions are ideal for promoting a faster recovery. To help further reduce your risk of further sports injuries, we’ll give you advice and support in not overusing your muscles as part of your rehab plan.
Sports Massage sessions use a combination of deep-tissue massage, facilitated stretching, and various forms of soft-tissue manipulation that work to release trigger points deep into the muscles, tendons, and ligaments. This helps to stretch and loosen tight, overworked, and injured muscle fibres and other soft tissue such as fascia. Exercises may also be prescribed as part of the treatment process as strengthening muscles weakened by injury will ensure a speedier recovery.
The Body Sage Clinic in Bedford offers a wide range of treatment options that include deep-tissue massage therapy techniques. All of which have been designed specifically with your needs in mind. For most aches and pains, we recommend choosing our Injury Therapy appointment. If you’re particularly sporty, we also have a range of treatments specially designed for your needs, called Sports Performance Therapy.
Okay, you’ve no doubt realised that we’re based in Bedford, not Ampthill or Flitwick. As there aren’t many options for dry-needling acupuncture in your area, we made this page especially for you. We’re just a short journey along the B530 in Bedford Town Centre. There’s loads of on-street parking and Queen Street multi-storey car park less than 50 metres away and offers two hours of free parking daily. By bus, we’re just a 5-minute walk from Bedford Bus Station and a 10-minute walk from Bedford Railway Station.
Sports Massage FAQ
What should I wear for a sports massage?
Loose comfortable sportswear is ideal, or anything that can be removed or easily rearranged. For hygiene reasons, we’d prefer it if you avoid having a sports massage straight after a workout or while wearing dirty work clothes.
Does a sports massage hurt?
It might, but it depends on the problem being treated. Some injuries can be quite painful, but it’s always the aim of the therapist to ensure the treatment is effective and enjoyable.
Will sports massage help with non-sports injuries?
Yes. It doesn’t matter if you did it while exercising, sneezing or just sitting at your desk.
Why is it called Sports Massage if it’s for everyone?
Sports massage was developed to treat athletes based on scientific theory and reasoning, and as such, it can be applied to injuries of a similar nature, regardless of cause.
Is there a consultation on my first appointment?
It’s hard to fix something if you don’t know what broken and complicated injuries may require some time to diagnose. Less complex issues often only need a short chat about your symptoms and your options for treatment.
What if you can’t fix my problem?
It does occur when an injury requires more specialist treatment than we can provide. We pride ourselves on being open and honest with our customers in these situations, and as such we will always refer you accordingly.
